This is not a current programme. It's an idea for a future stage — something the Trust might run one day, once there is land and funding to do it properly and modestly. We'd rather under-promise here than overclaim.
We believe food, warmth, water and community matter deeply — and that a piece of land, held for the community, could one day help provide some of them. That's the belief behind this idea.
The first step we imagine is a single flagship farm in central England, chosen for one practical reason: it's reachable from almost everywhere in the country. As voluntary contributions to the Rooted Common Ground Farms Fund accumulate, they go toward the early-stage costs of establishing Rooted Common Ground Land Trust, Rooted Common Ground Community, and Rooted Common Ground Wellbeing — the bodies that, in time, we hope could hold, fund, and steward such land for the community.
We're honest that no single contribution buys land, and this is not a promise of a network. It's one possible piece of land, done properly, first — if it becomes possible at all.
What a Sanctuary Farm Offers

Where the digital Rooted Common Ground meets the real world. Where exchanges are celebrated, new members are welcomed, and community pillars gather.
How Land is Held
Land will be protected forever by Rooted Common Ground Land Trust, stewarded with care by a trauma-aware Stewardship Council, and funded by our Community Benefit Society. This ensures farms are held for people, not profit.
